Amicalola Falls State Park
It's easy to see why this is one of Georgia's most popular state parks. Amicalola, a Cherokee Indian word meaning "tumbling waters," is an appropriate name for these 729-foot falls - the tallest east of the Mississippi River. Hiking and nature watching opportunities abound.
Ocoee River Rafting
Prepare to challenge the water that has taken on the best boaters in the world. The Upper Ocoee is the site of the 1996 Olympic Whitewater Competition. It's a great trip by itself, or can be combined with a middle trip for a full day of whitewater adventure.
Appalachian Trail - Georgia Appalachian Trail Club
The Appalachian Trail is a continuous marked footpath that goes from Katahdin in Maine to Springer Mountain in Georgia, a distance of about 2,160 miles.
