The Land of Big Water
If you look at a surface map of the area surrounding Crazy Horse Lake, the first thing you're likely to notice is water. It's everywhere—in the form of lakes, rivers and streams, and the granddaddy of the northwest, The Chippewa Flowage. A true water sport and fishing paradise, you'll be minutes from trout streams, top musky fishing lakes, and more.

Highlights include:
Lake Chippewa
At 15,300 acres, Lake Chippewa is Wisconsin's third largest inland lake. A premiere fishing spot for anglers of all skill levels, but is sought out by avid musky fishermen worldwide.
Winter Lake
At 676 acres and less than ten minutes from Crazy Horse Lake, Winter Lake is truly a recreation and trophy fishing hot spot. Winter Lake holds more muskies per acres than any other lake in Wisconsin and is a tightly kept local secret.
Grindstone Lake
At 3,111 acres Grindstone is one of the top hot spots for on water recreation. Ideal for waterskiing, wakeboarding and tubing. Don't forget to cast a line, this is still a super spot to pound giant Muskie and has an abundant population of Walleye.
Lac Courte Oreilles
At 5,039 acres this is another great day trip to see an incredible body of water. The lake has an abundance of northern pike, muskie, walleye, bass and other fish, and is a popular fishing destination. The name is shared by a nearby Ojibwa reservation.
Round Lake
At 3,054 acres there is plenty of room to pop up your ice shack and experience some of the finest Walleye fishing in the Hayward area. Take a break and pop in to the "original" Famous Dave's for some mouth watering BBQ.
